A Record stands for the “Address Record”
- In DNS records, A Record is the one who is responsible for mapping of IP address and domain name. It points the domain name to the IP address and IP address to the domain name, vice-versa.
- This record prevent the user from the headache of remembering a complex IP address by just knowing the domain name of the site.
- For instance, if you type www.mailcot.com then this is directed to the IP 192.168.43.23, and this is done by the A Records.
- In addition, A record contains the information of the hostname/address of the server and the corresponding IPV4 address.
